Problem Skin Advice
Acne Prone

Acne is a skin condition caused by changes in your sebaceous glands (oil glands) where plugs form in skin follicles and either create blackheads or whiteheads. Both types of plugs can develop further and become swollen, inflamed pimples or, in severe cases, deep nodules or cysts.

Eczema

Eczema is an inflammation of the skin that causes it to become red, dry and itchy. Severity varies from person to person. Some experience nothing more than a mild itchy rash on a small part of the body. For others, the eczema can cover the entire body, and it can be extremely itchy and painful.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a type of chronic skin inflammation that typically affects the face. It's characterised by enlarged and broken capillaries – resulting in lasting redness. The forehead, cheeks and chin may develop yellow-headed pimples.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, is a condition in which a woman’s levels of the sex hormones - estrogen, progesterone and testosterone - are out of balance. This leads to the growth of ovarian cysts (benign masses on the ovaries). PCOS is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age.

Sensitive Skin

Although it is often thought that sensitivity is associated with fine textured skin this is not the case. Due to modern day living we are now exposed to more skin irritants and general pollutants than at any other time in history. Redness and flushing is far more obvious on pale skin. But whether pale, olive or very dark skinned, we all experience the discomfort of sensitivity in a similar way.
